PEP+ Schedule and Testing

Students and parents must adhere to the following:

  • Meet with the teacher for one hour each week during their scheduled time
  • Complete 20 hours of work per week and turn it in for full credit
  • Attend district/state test days
  • Attend extra tutoring sessions as needed


Students are required to take district benchmark tests and state exams.  Students will also take weekly tests based on their chapter of study in each of the four curricular areas to show mastery of state standards.


PEP+ extracurricular activities include physical education, art workshops, science activities, parent and student curriculum workshops, and birthday celebrations.

Joyce Willoughby  

Joyce Willoughby has 23 years of teaching experience with elementary and middle school.  For the last 14 years, she has been teaching in the Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District.  She holds a B.A in Liberals Studies with a minor in Business Administration and in Psychology, along with a K-8 Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.  She believes all students can be successful and she creates a challenging but fun learning experience for all students.  You can contact her at

 Green Valley PEP+ 

Personalized Education Program




PEP+ is a Personalized Education Program + extracurricular activities for students from K-8th grade that offers an alternative to traditional classroom instruction, including online for 8th grade.  This program is designed to meet unique individualized educational need of students, with flexible hours, while offering a high-quality curriculum aligned to CA Common Core State Standards.  It allows for a variety of learning styles, interest, and abilities.  Guidance, support, and supervision for students and parents are provided by experienced credentialed teachers.  All textbooks, curriculum, lesson plans, and support are free to students in PEP+.


PEP+ K-8 program students are children who meet the following requirements:

  • Desire and alternative to a general education classroom that is unique, individualized, and can accelerate beyond grade level
  • Have scored basic, proficient, or advanced on CA state tests and are working near, at, or above grade level
  • Are self-motivated independent workers, who have parents to help with instruction of daily lessons at home
  • Are proficient in English
  • Have transportation to weekly meetings
  • Have proficient computer skills (8th grade online)


Enrollment Process

Enrollment Process:
  1.  Please call (909) 790 -8580 to schedule a meeting with a teacher.  For K-5 speak with Mrs. Mullen.  For 6-8 speak with Mrs. Willoughby.

  2. Students and parents will meet with the teacher to discuss program requirements.

  3. A YCJUSD enrollment packet and PEP+ contract shall be completed and signed.
  4. If the child is not currently enrolled in the district proof of residency, birth certificate, and immunization record will be required.
